How We Can Help
What We Provide
Forest Management Plans

- Qualifies as a tax plan through the counties to meet the requirements of Designated Forestland (DFL)
- Meets all the requirements for the WA State Integrated Forest Management Plan guidelines
- Meets the requirements for NRCS cost-share funding
Timber Valuation
Whether you are interested in purchasing a forested parcel, need an appraisal, or are otherwise interested in the value of standing timber on your property, we are capable of providing you an accurate estimate for timber value.
- Timber cruises can be designed to meet your needs
- We take multiple factors into consideration when determining the value of your timber.
- Your cruise report will include all information we used to determine the value of your timber
- If you suspect timber trespass has occurred, contact us immediately. We will assess the situation and advise you in the direction you should proceed.
Timber Harvest
From initial property reconnaissance and project proposals through harvest preparation, marketing and implementation, we guide you through the entire process. Timber buyers in the region recognize our experience and know that we have considered the interests of the landowner while laying out a straightforward harvest from an operational standpoint.
The reasons you may want to do a timber harvest are listed below:
- Increases health and productivity of your forest
- Maximizes long-term financial returns
- Creates and maintains wildlife habitat, and enhances species diversity
- Maintains a resilient ecosystem in the face of a range of threats
- Complies with forest management plans and tax incentive programs
Post-harvest site management
Following timber harvest, we can implement Post-Harvest Fuels Treatment which includes Pre-Commercial Thinning (PCT), pruning, and either piling and burning or masticating slash.
- assist you in the application process for cost-share funding through WA DNR, NRCS, and Conservation Districts, to complete fuels treatment work, or you can subsidize these projects from the proceeds of the timber sale.
- We have access to multiple contractors through all counties to accomplish this work.
- All contracts adhere to a prescription that is reviewed by the landowner and approved prior to work beginning.
- Add Feature
Forest Estate Planning
The services of a consulting forester can be invaluable during the estate planning process or when addressing estate issues. In conjunction with other professionals, such as an attorney and accountant, we work to craft the best estate plan for your situation, or to assist with the forest valuation process required to settle an estate.
Training and Education
We provide a variety of training and Education experiences for small forest landowners. We participate in forestry education to local high schools and assist in FFA forestry contests.
- We are members of WA Farm Forestry Association and the Association of Consulting Foresters
- Educational field tours are done each summer on local tree farms for small forest landowners.
- Educating the next generation of forest landowners and foresters is a passion of ours.
How it Works
Let us help you get started today
Your initial consultation and site visit are typically free. This is where we capture your vision and long-term goals for your property. We assess your resources and begin to come up with strategies of how we can incorporate management systems to achieve those goals.
Based on decisions made at the Initial Consultation, we begin preparing the project and completing field work. Once field work is completed, we will consult with you again for “next steps”.
We evaluate markets based on products and time of year. We coordinate and plan projects based on contractor availability. When the markets look good, we contact you and move forward with the project.
All contracts are signed, prescriptions are written, and harvest begins. You should plan on being available the first couple days of harvest to share your thoughts and make decisions. Harvest continues until project is completed.
When harvest is completed, all final work is done to slash piles, skid trails, roads are repaired or graded, and final payment is made to the landowner. Next steps could include: Post-Harvest Fuels Treatment, tree planting, grass seeding, burn slash piles, etc.
